Sokoto State signs MoU on new Sugar Factory

The Sokoto State Government and Goronyo Sugar Factory have signed a memorandum of understanding for the establishment of a new Sugar Company in the State.

The event which took place in the Government House, Sokoto was witnessed by the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Members of the State Executive Council, the Honourable Minister of State of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment Hajia Aisha Abubakar, the Executive Secretary National Sugar Development Council Abuja, Dr. Latif Busari, Officials of the Goronyo Sugar Factory and other Top Government Officials.

At the occasion, Governor Tambuwal said the Government wants to create opportunities for the citizens by setting up various industries and supporting the private sector to invest in the State.

Both the Hon. Minister of State FMITI and the Executive Secretary expressed readiness of the Federal Government to do everything possible to ensure smooth take-off of the Sugar Factory.
