Sugar Council is a model for other MDAs to emulate, Perm. Sec. FMITI-Dr. Sani-Gwarzo

The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment (FMITI), Dr. Nasir Sani-Gwarzo has commended the leadership of the National Sugar Development Council (NSDC) for running an innovative and efficient agency, saying the Council is a visionary organization and model for other Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to emulate.
Dr. Sani-Gwarzo who particularly praised the ES, Dr. Latif D. Busari for designing and implementing a strategy document for the Sugar sector known as the Nigerian Sugar Master Plan (NSMP), said, Sugar Council is among the few government agencies that have implementable master plans and strategy document to work with.
He said, “The NSDC is a model for other government agencies to emulate. I have received briefings from a number of agencies within the Ministry since I came on board, this is the first organization that is coming here with a working document. Please, let’s give him a resounding round of applause. I am quite proud of your achievements. It takes a serious, visionary and forwarding thinking organization to have a document with which to work with”.
“Please E.S, I wish to humbly ask one of the members of your team to convey my warm gratitude and greetings to the entire 99 staff of the National Sugar Development Council for running an efficient and responsible government agency”.
Dr. Sani-Gwarzo urged the E.S to ensure that the ideals which he believes in are institutionalized in the Council for succeeding generations to learn from.
Earlier in his presentation, Dr. Busari said he was in the Ministry to welcome and officially brief the Permanent Secretary on the programmes and activities of the Council.
Dr. Busari was accompanied by the Director, Procurement, Alhaji Ibrahim S. Ibrahim, Director, Human Resource Management, Malam Gambo Abdullahi; Special Assistant to the ES, Mr. Chris Mbamalu and Principal Information Officer, Mr. Abdullahi W. Yunusa.
